What we do

We’re behaviour change specialists focused on improving lives.

Our approach combines academic evidence with practitioner experience to help you deliver value to citizens and communities.

Some of the biggest challenges faced by society – public health, the environment or cohesion require new approaches; approaches that resonate with the customer, are affordable and sustainable.

That’s where we can help. Our multi-disciplinary team will cut through the noise to identify evidence-based solutions.

From conducting social research to co-designing interventions, evaluating impact to devising new strategies, our team will support yours to unpick the challenge and devise impactful routes forward.

Behavioural Insights

Behavioural insights

Behavioural insights allow us to understand why people behave in certain ways and to discover what can be done to influence better choices.

It brings together learning from social psychology, neuroscience, economics and marketing to forge new approaches to citizen engagement and service design.

At Social Engine we use this specialist knowledge and experience of what works to tackle societal and organisational problems.

Social marketing

Social marketing is a way of applying behavioural insights to design interventions or activities that will resonate with the values of the target audience.

Whilst it draws on techniques common in commercial marketing it is fundamentally different, aiming to provide benefits to communities and to improve lives, rather than the chance to sell stuff!
